"Sharm el-Sheikh es una ciudad puerto y es un centro turístico muy conocido en el extremo sur de la península del Sinaí en Egipto; popular entre los buzos y las vacaciones organizadas. Sharm el-Sheikh es uno de los destinos turísticos más populares en el mundo árabe y uno de los mejores lugares de buceo en el mundo. Sharm el Sheikh ha crecido en tres áreas distintas ahora. Nabq es una nueva área al norte de Naama, Mercado Viejo y Hadaba al sur de Na'amaa Bay. Naama Bay, es el centro de la vida nocturna y restaurantes: la mayoría de los clubes, cafés, restaurantes y tiendas de Sharm están aquí; está en un promontorio sobre el estrecho de Tirán, en la desembocadura del Golfo de Aqaba. El casco antiguo tiene un bazar interesante y restaurantes tradicionales. En la noche de Sharm el-Sheikh es radiante con luces; los restaurantes, bares y cafés están todos ocupados.
